Fujitsu Siemens P20W-5 ECO Zero-Watt Monitor
By Plasma LCD on August 19th, 2008

The Fujitsu Siemens Zero-Watt Monitor is the world’s first power saving LCD monitor that absolutely uses no power at all when placed in a standby mode or in ECO Mode. The Fujitsu ECO Mode monitors are available in two models the 20-inch P20W-5 ECO and the 22-inch P22W-5 ECO.
When placed in the power-saving modes, the power supply of both the P20W-5 ECO and the P22W-5 ECO LCD Monitors by Fujitsu automaticallys witches off to save power. In this state, the monitor draws zero watts resulting to maximum energy savings compared to its competitors that can save only from one to six watts when in the standby mode.
This is made possible through the power supply’s switch which is directly controlled and connected to the PC. Thus, the switch automatically breaks the electricity flow to the power supply when the monitor is placed on standby. What is amazing is just the tap of any of the keyboard keys will restore the connection.
The zero-watt models by Fujitsu can be tilted and its height adjusted. It has HDMI inputs, automatic brightness control which is again a power saving feature and has a response time of 5ms.
The 20-inch ECO displays which are now available for purchase, costs $620 but if you want bigger monitors just wait for the 24 and 26 inch models.
