The Panasonic VIERA PZ85 comprise the new Plasma full HDTV line of Panasonic for 2008. If you are eyeing a Plasma then check out the VIERA PZ800 series since these are top of the line plasma TVs. There are four models in the series including the largest 58-inch TH-58PZ800 followed by the TH-50PZ800 which is a 50-inch plasma, the TH-46PZ800 which is a 46-inch plasma and the TH-42PZ800 which is a 42-inch plasma.
The PZ800 series boasts of great connectivity with four HDMI inputs and a PC input which makes it both a television and a monitor. Panasonic TH-PX80U Series

The Panasonic TH-PX80U series is included in the five plasma HDTV series that will be released by Panasonic this year. You can choose between the 42-inch TH-42PX80U which costs $1,199 and the 50-inch TH-50PX80U which costs $1,699.
These two models are the entry-level models of this series. And while they do not carry the 1080 pixel resolution these models are a sure hit since they are $400 to $800 cheaper than the 1080 pixel models. These models have a 15,000:1 contrast ratio and a 720 pixel native resolution.
The Panasonic TH-PX80U series all have anti-reflective screens instead of anti-glare screens. You can expect reduced screen reflections and shadows and better color fidelity. The series is also noted for their full brightness at 100,000 hours before they fade to half-brightness. The screens are also known for being “Wiimote-proof which means it is resistant to shock as evident when a steel ball was repeatedly bounded on the panel during a demonstration.
Connectivity is great with three HDMI inputs and an SD card which allows you to view photos and other images. There is also a Game Mode which will be a delight to gamers especially with the minimal lag time between the on-screen action and the controller.
Philips Magnavox 52MF437S LCD HDTV

The Philips Magnavox 52MF437S is a bank-breaking liquid crystal display at a tag price of $1,900. It has a 1920×1080 resolution with a 2000:1 image contrast ratio and a response time of 6ms.

Mitsubishi 40-inch LCD-40MZW200

The Mitsubishi MZW series which will soon be released is creating quite a stir in the LCD television market. The MZW series consists of the 46MZW200 with a tag price of $3,643 and the 40-inch LCD-40MZW200 with a tag price of 2,732. Those who want the smaller models can avail of the 19 to 42-inch models from $910 to $2,550.
The larger models in the MZW series boast of a 1080 pixel resolution, 10-bit Diamond Panel, 15,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, Diamond Engine Pro, 120Hz technology and the Diatone Sound Technology.
The lower models do not have the 120Hz technology but they have the 1080 pixel resolution. Connectivity is great for the MWZ models at it offers four HDMI inputs.
